In my trauma nursing practice, I faced a problem over interrupted workflow and inadequate interprofessional communication. In a critical situation, the secretary was situated in a crowded care area, restricting safe mobility. While procuring drugs, I inadvertently contacted the chair, eliciting an immediate protective response. Key stakeholders were nursing staff, support people, leadership, and the patient impacted by the care environment. The scenario deteriorated swiftly in a high-pressure clinical setting, necessitating medical intervention to guarantee patient safety. Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, I officially recorded the incident and conveyed my apprehension through leadership channels. The answer demonstrated avoidance and competition, resulting in a postponement of corrective action. Evidence suggests that “collaborative conflict management enhances communication, team trust, and patient care outcomes in healthcare environments†(Almost et al., 2020). Furthermore, supportive work environments bolster teamwork and safety (Wei et al., 2023).A collaborative strategy based on advanced practice leadership, trauma-informed treatment, and therapeutic de-escalation techniques could have produced a more effective result. My chosen methodology emphasizes mutual respect, psychological safety, and collaborative problem-solving to resolve and avert like problems in the future.
