Collaboration Café
Purpose
The purpose of the graded Collaboration Café is to engage students with their peers in an interactive dialogue to organize, integrate, apply, and critically appraise knowledge for nurse practitioner (NP) practice. Meaningful dialogue fosters the development of a learning community as ideas, perspectives, and knowledge are shared. This Collaboration Café supports the professional formation of the nurse practitioner role.
Course Outcomes
This assignment enables the student to meet the following course outcomes:
CO 1: Examine the role of research and evidence from nursing and related fields in advancing healthcare outcomes and equity. (POs 4, 5)
CO 2: Evaluate research and evidence for application to advanced nursing practice. (POs 4, 5)
CO 4: Apply evidence-based models to enhance advanced nursing practice. (POs 4, 5)
CO 5: Develop professional competencies in scientific inquiry and translating scholarship into practice. (POs 4, 5)
Preparing the Collaboration Café
Follow these guidelines when completing each component of the Collaboration Café. Contact your course faculty if you have questions.
Include the following sections:
Application of Course Knowledge: Answer all questions/criteria with explanations and detail.
Consider the available methods for disseminating research. Which two methods appeal to you and why?
Which method of dissemination will be most effective for your future practice?
What steps can you take to share the results of your Week 7 project in a professional setting?
Communicate using respectful, collegial language and terminology appropriate to advanced nursing practice.
Professionalism in Communication: Communicate with minimal errors in English grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
